PEER is a 90-minute complete practice emerging at the intersection of yoga, mental health and social justice. A trauma informed, critical and collective approach to asana, philosophy & somatics. It is through our togetherness that PEER is born. A space that inspires enquiry into yoga, the systems we exist within and how we might find greater reciprocity between these two worlds.
We begin with satsang, conversation in community. Together we will explore a focus topic drawn from yogic philosophy through a trauma-informed and systems lens. This is a collaborative and free-form time to share, ask questions or listen.
Vinyasa yoga forms the foundation of our physical exploration. Strong and steady asana complimented by breath practices and somatic movement. There will be challenge and choice offered throughout, encouraging you to move at your own pace. As we progress through our practice, Jaimee will weave in themes from our satsang, creating opportunities to continue exploring these ideas.
To conclude we will slide into a grounding and restorative synthesis of floor-based stretches and yin yoga.
We live in a world where we are constantly flooded with messages that distort our relationship with our bodies.
Yoga has the power to be either a force for healing or a reinforcement of these harmful narratives—depending on how we approach it.
This 2.5 hour workshop is for anyone who wants to explore how yoga can support positive body image and deeper embodiment.
Together, we’ll unpack the subtle ways yoga culture can contribute to body shame and, more importantly, how we can reclaim the practice as a space for compassion, self-trust, and genuine self-connection.
Come as you are—this is a space for inquiry, reflection, and healing movement. This workshop will include trauma informed somatic practices & yin yoga, meditation, journaling and group discussion.
